| Ministering to the Community and the World in the 21st Century |
|
Saloma Baptist Church is committed to ministering to the community and world in the name of Jesus Christ in the 21st Century. It is our belief that the Jesus Christ has called us to be Great Commission Christians - by evangelizing the community and world with the Good News of Jesus Christ and by ministering to all people, including the "least of these" as our Lord referred to those in need. We seek to provide a full range of Bible Study, Worship, fellowship, ministry, and missions opportunities for all ages. Children and youth ministry are priorities at Saloma Baptist Church as well as senior adult ministry. Placing a strong emphasis on missions and ministries, Saloma Baptist Church provides more than 40% of its annual budget in support of various Christian missions and ministries at the local, state, national, and international levels. Saloma Baptist Church has historically been a cooperating member of the Taylor County Baptist Association, Kentucky Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. As we celebrate and affirm those historic affiliations, we have responded to the call of God in becoming a member of the Baptist World Alliance, a worldwide fellowship of Baptist believers. We have become members also of the General Association of Baptists in Kentucky and the Zion District Association of Baptists in Kentucky, both historically African American Baptist fellowships. We believe in the concept of reconciliation which means that in Christ Jesus, all are made one. Saloma Baptist Church was founded in 1951 by a small group of believers who were called by God to establish a Baptist fellowship in the Saloma community, located five miles north of Campbellsville. The church has steadily grown through the years, and while remaining a community church, God is using Saloma Baptist Church in new and exciting ways in the 21st century. Guests will always find a warm welcome at Saloma Baptist Church, and all people, seeking to know more about Jesus Christ, are encouraged to join us for worship, Bible study, ministry, and fellowship. |
